Honeywell Expands its Current Sensors Portfolio for Electric Vehicles
CSNV500, CSNV1500, and CSSV1500
CSNV500, CSNV1500, and CSSV1500
Honeywell is pleased to announce the latest additions to its Current Sensors portfolio: CSNV500, CSNV1500 and CSSV1500 Series, for current sensing in high amperage and safety critical applications such as electric vehicles, battery energy storage systems, and heavy industrial.
The CSNV500, CSNV1500 and CSSV1500 Series are automotive-grade current sensors for battery management systems (BMS), battery disconnect units (BDU) and power distribution units (PDU) in electric vehicles. The CSSV1500 Series is designed to meet ASIL-C requirements for safety critical applications.
Honeywell’s Current Sensors are non-intrusive and electrically isolated from the monitored circuit. This ensures a simple and reliable structure without loss of power to the monitored circuit. Honeywell leverages over 40 years of experience designing sensors and switches for transportation vehicles to deliver on performance and reliability. These sensors are calibrated and temperature compensated for improved accuracy using a Honeywell patented multi-point temperature characterization.
These current sensors are designed to communicate using CAN communication protocol, allowing ease of integration for design engineers. All of the sensors are also also can be customized per customer request to meet application needs.

The CSNV500 Series are closed loop Hall-effect current sensors rated for a primary current measurement range of ±500 A DC.
This sensor family uses a multi-point temperature characterization and calibration to deliver an accuracy of 0.5% over the operating temperature range.
It has an optimized magnetic circuit that allows excellent performance in diverse magnetic environments, providing engineers more flexibility in their design. It is designed and qualified to automotive quality and reliability requirements for on-vehicle use.
The CSNV500 Series can be customized per customer request to meet application needs.
The CSNV1500 Series are advanced closed loop Hall-effect current sensors rated for a primary current measurement range of ±1500 A DC.
This sensor family uses a multi-point temperature characterization and calibration to deliver an accuracy of 1% over the operating temperature range.
The CSNV1500 Series is a cost-effective option tailored for high-amperage needs in non-safety critical applications where a sensing range of up to ±1500 A dc is required. It is designed and qualified to automotive quality and reliability requirements for on-vehicle use.
The CSNV1500 Series can be customized per customer request to meet application needs.
The CSSV Series are advanced fluxgate current sensors that use a multi-sensing scheme to comply with ASIL-C requirements while delivering on reliability and performance.
The CSSV Series has two independent sensing and data processing circuits for current sensing. The two processed data are checked for confidence. If they are within the set threshold range, the current data is outputted. If the threshold is exceeded, an alarm message is sent.
The CSSV Series is designed for safety critical applications and rated for a primary current measurement range of ±1500 A DC. This sensor family uses Honeywell’s patented multi-point temperature characterization and calibration to deliver an accuracy of 0.5% over the operating temperature range.
